I will be delivering an update on the current status of Silicon Valley rent control measures on November 14, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at the offices of the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (“SCCAOR”). This 90-minute presentation is a part of the “SCCAOR University” series of events open to members of SCCAOR as well as the general public, and will review the recent “just cause” ordinance enacted in San Jose and the latest measures adopted by Mountain View, as well as the existing East Palo Alto rent control ordinances. This discussion will also include a report on rent control proposals that have been under consideration in other Silicon Valley cities.
Registration is encouraged, as space is limited. The cost is $15 for SCCAOR members and $20 for non-members until November 12, increasing to $25 thereafter. If you are not a member of SCCAOR, you can register by creating a free online account. The registration link is below:
This presentation will include material first offered in my guest blog post in the SCCAOR newsletter (Click here for the article), supplemented by reports on subsequent developments and information on other cities’ rent control laws.
Once again, this talk will be presented at the offices of the SCCAOR, located at 1651 N. 1st Street, San Jose. There are a number of off-street parking options available nearby:
